The Addresses module is a solution for the standardisation, cleaning and correction of information related to postal addresses in a database. With this solution, postal addresses are campified, corrected and updated to keep the database correct and clean. In addition, they are assigned a reliability indicator and the correct postal code is incorporated.
By setting standards applied to postal address data we separate the source information into different fields. The standardised address is separated into the following fields: type of road, name, number of address supplements, postal code and town, even for unvalidated addresses.
The information on the type of road is returned standardized according to Deyde DataCentric‘s list of abbreviations, for example: avenida, avd, avda, … are standardized into one word “AVDA”.
At the same time, the names of both roads and populations are corrected and updated, as established by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), even modifying erroneous or obsolete roads and populations. The correct and updated postal code is also incorporated according to Correos España, depending on the population, route and number.
